Commercial law

The countries in which Brada Abeln is present – apart from the Netherlands, the United States, Israel, Switzerland and Germany – all have a prominent position in international trade. In the Netherlands, Commercial law is regulated by Book 8 of the Civil Code and, in cases with an international dimension, furthermore by (complicated) rules of private international law. On the one hand, the international economy demands flexible trading, yet on the other hand, in practice a transaction sometimes does not deliver what it was expected to – whether in consumer or industrial products, or in commodities – no matter how careful everything seemed to have been laid down. Brada Abeln assists clients in the whole range of commercial law, including distribution, agencies and franchising, purchase or sale agreements, general conditions, and product liability for national and international courts of justice or arbitration tribunals.
